ZipFizz or Blow? We Think We Know

When it comes to “energy drinks,” most are an overpriced, over-hyped mix of sugar and caffeine — not exactly the kind of concoction designed to promote health and optimal physical performance.

And while such “witch’s brews” may give a quick burst of energy, they can also set you up for a fast let-down.

One new energy drink, “Blow,” is packaged like a vial of cocaine. Cute.

The energy drink we’ve chosen for our Healthy Troops packages is called ZipFizz, pioneers of the “Real” energy beverage. It has some caffeine, but sugar is not where ZipFizz gets it’s punch. Instead, this powdered, just-add-to=water beverage is loaded with vitamin B12 and potassium (a mineral that easily gets depleted in the heat). It also contains a mix of 25 essential nutrients.

The packaging of ZipFizz also makes it ideal for troops. Each of four flavors comes in sturdy little plastic vials which can easily be carried in a pocket or ruck-sack.

New “energy drinks” come and go, but ZipFizz gets our vote for the best energy drink for Healthy Troops.
